Bruce's 2012 Race Reports

Preseason - January 2012

I just got my AFM race number for 2012, I'll be sporting number 401 on pretty yellow plates again. I'm making progress on getting ready for the upcoming season. Zoran has my motor to freshen it up and make sure there aren't any rocks or dirt in it from my crash. The new sharkskinz are at sbkpaint.com getting painted, I'm using the same paint scheme as 2011. The flat slides are ready to be cleaned as soon as the service kits show up, the new Brembo front master cylinder is ready to mount as is the MotionPro throttle. Best of all the new slipper clutch is ready to install. My Ducati leathers are at Anthony's Leather Shop in So Cal being repaired and as soon as they come back I'll ship my Pilot Evo leathers to Josh at Pilot to get them cleaned up so they're ready for the start of the season.

In the mean time Rob at Sierra Speed and Strength continues to work with me on my physical conditioning. My birthday was on December 20th, my 61st. He checked my body fat for future reference: age 61, weight 166, body fat 17% - not bad. Last July when I started my body fat was about 24%, so we're making great progress.

I booked a two day school with California Superbike School in Las Vegas in late February and a one day class with Jason Pridemore's STAR school in March. Hopefully the schools will help me learn a few things without having learn by crashing - it's getting expensive and my luck might run out; thus far I've had 4 offs and no serious injuries.

So everything's tracking for the beginning of the season.
